After the comments I heard on my blog, I started thinking. Many of my friends got interested on the topic I chose rather than thinking that, this is our friend's first blog. Of course, people in IT must have read N number of nice blogs. I think the topic of recession in my last blog was in mind of many and so, I got more responses for the same. When I was thinking of the next topic - many things came into my mind - like Tamil film industry, politics in India but after I saw the swearing in ceremony on TV, I know what I am going to write about.
This topic might not be interesting for many coz, the very word "Politics" make faces crazy. In fact, I was one of these guys and I doubt I am still. But watching this man Obama speaking in front of crowds like ocean made me interesting. I was just browsing on the TV when I stopped to see the crowd and my roomie was asking why do people come and stand like this in the hot sun to hear his speech. Anyways, they can watch him on TV. Though he was wrong as it was winter in US, I was quite interested in finding the answer for this question.
Last winter 2007 December - 2008 Jan, when I was in US for the first time, I heard this name "Barack Obama". People were telling he is competing Hillary Clinton. I, having no idea on US politics was not quite interested. I was surprised to hear that, the elections in US last for an year and I was forced to see his campaigns in TV as the TV in my office showed nothing else. "CHANGE" was a very big word he used. I was quite amused as why he wants to change US when it is at the top in almost everything. Even a great astrologer wouldn't have predicted the fall coming exactly 1 year from that time.
It was when I went to US the next time that I heard he won over Hillary. I then understood the whole political web in US when people told, Mc Cain will win over Obama and some people supported Obama. It was when this recession started and the greatest of the banks fell, I was again tracking this elections as how US is going to react. Personally, I thought Bush was fair enough towards the policies to India. Then, when the whole world was following the presidential election, the CHANGE actually happened. This man - the new president elect gave a historical speech at Chicago.
Yesterday, it was a refreshing speech. He started with the same lines as the topic of this blog. Well the speech he made was not only meant to US, but the world I hope. The energy with which he spoke, our hope is that he gets it converted into actions and the real CHANGE happens soon for the world to be a peaceful place to live in. For those who missed out his speech yesterday are some of the clippings which I liked the most:
"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met.Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers. Let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:
"Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive...that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]." "

From the day I started to write Blog, I had a resolution that I would use others' words in my blog very less. I swear to follow that. But this blog has the words of Obama and I think it is worth in it. Ok friends, do comment on this.
All the Best and meet you all in my next blog.
